Operation Easter Egg, Phase 1

Phase 1 of Op Egg……mission accomplished. 60 eggs delivered to The Rose Road Centre earlier this week, and what a humbling but lovely experience, and an absolute privilege to meet a handful of the 360 kids and their carers. We were welcomed by Kim, the fundraising manager and spent some time giving out the eggs. Gavin patiently fed small pieces of chocolate to one of the boys, some of them are tube-fed but can have tiny amounts of chocolate put on their tongues. Little Tabbie took a shine to Steve, And Colin handed over a bag of plugs to ‘Smiley Riley’. He was over the moon with them, and it was amazing to see his reaction! I had a lovely chat with Liam, he couldn’t speak but his eyes were reacting to things I said and I got him smiling. We’ve invited Kim to breakfast, she works horrendously long hours trying to raise the £600,000 a year to keep this fantastic facility running so the least we can do is buy her a well-deserved brekkie! What a lovely evening, thank you to all those who donated.
